It would be my conveying inability if a feeling has been generated based on this

series, that the Almighty's magnanimity is confined to vibhavavAthAram- i.e

during only incarnations.

This can only be far from the truth. While the vibhavAvathArangaL throws up

several instances highlighting this auspcious quality, the Supremacy and

antharyAmithvam are not bereft of this.

Sri thirumangai mannan in the same 'yEazhai yEadhalan 'thirumozhi in the third

and fourth pAsuram talks of the magnanimity of the Supreme Lord Sriman

nArAyaNA. The gajEndra mOksham happens to be the day after tomorrow and perhaps

this is the opportune moment to recall that divine event. GajEndrAzhwAn after

fighting against the crocodile for years, called the Lord, the Lord overlooking

the protocol of Sri vishwaksEnar and forgetting His dress and sandals rushed to

the spot on the GarudAzhwAr. Due to the extreme passion towards His devotees,

the speed of the garudAzhwAn was not enough for the Almighty.

The Lord who is by nature very soft and does not have anger innately, gets on

Him, the anger for the sake of His devotee. 'koNda sERRam' says kaliyan. After

killing the crocodile, the Lord takes care of the gajEndrAzhwAn giving

treatment to the feet which was suffering due to the crocodile bite.

The Lord could have right from His spot 'parama-padham' could have slain the

alligator. He could not tolerate the suffering of the devotee. He rushed

Himself and also presented His divine sight to the worship-desiiring elephant

-thozhum kAdhal kaLiRu says swAmi nam-AzhwAr.

The next episode mentioned by the nAlu kavip perumAL is that of sumukan the

serapnt who surrendered unto the feet of Lord having been vowed by garudA to

kill him. The Lord vested the responsibilty of taking care of sumukA to the

Divine bird himslef making the incompatible possible.

The third pAsuram -kadi-koL pUm-pozhil kAmaru poigai and nanju sOrvadhOar depict

the magnanimity of sriman nArAyaNA, precisely.
