Guest guest
thaRu kaN vEzhAam Certain terms used by thirumangai mannan are unique and is a learning process for us. For instance, the term 'puthEAL' refers to a demi-god -dhEvathai. Sri kaliyan declares that those who study the eighth thirumozhi of the sixth ten will become a demi-god for the souls of the upper world "..ponnulagil vAnavarkku puthEALir AguvarEA' Incidenctally, it is observed that swAmi nam-AzhwAr has used this same term in thiruvAsiriyam '..nAn-muga-puthEAL- nADu' referring brahmA as a demi-god or deity. Another term nElan refers while describing the tough kuvalayA-pETam is 'thaRu kaN-vEAzham' What is this thaRukaNmai ? 'pUNA thanalum -thaRu kaN vEzham maruga.." 6-10-3; Let us refer to the vyAkyAnam ?' sEARkka ninaithAr pakkalilEA jAdhiprayukthamAna vaTTaNitha kaNNaiyudaiya yAnai' are the words from the vyAkyAna text. The roughness and toughness of the elephant is thus alluded to.Here, the word is split into two and taken as thaRu+kaN and the meaning arrived at as circular eyes. Sri kAnchi swAmi taking the word as a single one thaRukaN instead of thaRu+kaN - oruvarrkum anjAdhirundha yAnai. The elpehant which was not afraid of anybody. That goes again to prove the richness of the language in thirumozhi dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
