Dear SrEvaishNavites,

 

Can the ocean of magnanimity of AchAryas be captured in a few messages. It goes

on and on. Here are a few snippets.

 

1. Sri vuyyakoNDAr was given an option by Sri nAdha munigaL whether he would

like to pursue yOga sAsthram and enjoy the Lord.Sri vuyyakkoNDAr declared

"piNam kiDakka manam puNaralAmOA " and opted for pursuing sAsthrangaL and

aruLichcheyal and continue with the SreVaishNavic cult to grow into a big tree

through ALa-vandhar and Sri RamAnujAr.'

 

2. When Sri rAmAnujar approached ThriukkOshtiyUr and enquired about

ThirukkOshtiyUr nambi -nambi made clear that one should look for the Almighty

and not nambi.

 

3. I have heard about poaching of disciples by one AchAryA by another in the

present day world. When Sri bhaTTar was just born Sri EmbAr brought the kid to

udayavar's lap. On seeing the face sparkling, Sri RamAnujA enquired about this.

EmbAr mentioned that he uttered dhvyam while bringing the child. " Then you be

the AchAryAn " commanded Sri RAmAnujA overlooking himself and so many others.

 

4. When the pAsuram 'minnin nilaiyila maNNuyir AkkaigaL' was being recited, Sri

kUrathAzhwAn recalled the unstable nature of this life and preached

thirumandhiram to bhaTTar overlooking EmbAr.

All these refelcet the mutual respect and large heartedness of these pUrvAchAryAs.

 

5.When Sri RAmAnujA explained meanings of thiruvoizhmozhi for certain pAsuram-s

to Sri ThirumAlai ANDAn, Sri ThriumAlai ANDAn was perplexed.How could rAmAnujA

spell out the nuances when he had not even mert Sri yamunaith thuRaivar, ran

his thoughts. ThirukkOshtiyUr Nambi explained the fact that educating rAmAnujA

was like giving education to Sri krshNA. When the thiruvoizhmozhi continued,

Sri ThirumAlai ANDAn happily rejoiced emotionally that he had listened to

meanings of ALa vandhAr not heard from ALa vandhAr but from EmperumAnAr and

fell at his feet.

 

6. Sri Govindhap perumAl -EmbAr-while performing kainkaryam to Thriumalai Nambi,

daily used to lie on the bed laid for the great AchAryan. One day the AchAryan

asked " is it right to lie on AchAryAn's bed? No.This will result in hell.

But, by lying so, I am able to set right the bed and see that the AchAryan

sleeps without any irritation" was his reply.

 

7. When Sri Periya Nambi's daughter's in laws tormented her, Sri rAmAnujA sent

Sri MudhaliANDAn as her 'sEdhana veLLATTi'. He also went without any hesitation

whatsoever and did all the duties.

 

The large heartedness of the AchAryAs goes on and on.. It continues for ever.
