Guest guest
The Benefits of Nurturing the body. As we all know that the sAsthram-s prescribe nurturing the AthmA and not the physical structure mixed with flesh and bones. However, thirumanai AzhwAr mentions that there is indeed benefit he has derived from harbouring this structure. In the final thirumozhi of the sixth ten, AzhwAr talks of thirunAmam of the Lord and rejoices. In the first thirumozhi of the seventh ten -"kaRavA maDa nAgu'' he calls the Almighty yearning for kainkarya prApthi. ThirunaRaiyUr nambi hihglights the fact that He resides in divya-dESam-s only to give this kainkarya prApthi to one and all. Kaliyan rejoices on this. However, this leads him to introspection. He has been all along thinking of something else, earlier. His pursuits were different. He has been nurturing his body of flesh and bones. Genreally, this should have led to doom for ever. What has happened, he has been immensely blessed with the Lord's immense Grace. Going for the reason thirumangai mannan realises that this is all due to thirunaRaiyUr nambi's Grace and he reiterates in the 9th pAsuram of the second thriumozhi of the second ten. 'vUN yEAr Akkai thannai vuzhandhu Ombai vaithAmaiyAl, yAnAi en-thanakkAi aDiyEan manam pugundha thEnEa, thEm karumbin theLivEA, en sindhai thannAl nAnEa eidhap peRREAn , naRaiyUr nambEyOA" 7-2-9; Having understood the causeless mercy of thirunaRaiyUr nambE, AzhwAr terms Him as thEAnEA-thEnkarumbin theLivE dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
