Guest guest
Annam-The King;Lotus -The Throne;Leaf- The Umbrella; Paddy-The Fan The king majestically sits on the throne, the Royal umbrella is erect upon the royal seat and the maidens meticulously treat him with the roayl fan-sAmaram. This is not any descripiton of any history but the swan-annam sits on the throne made of soft lotus petal, the leaf on the pool of water swirls up to give the touch of royal umbrella, the full grown paddy moves on the wind and gives the effect of 'kavari' to the annam. This is not a narration from any midevial poetry but from the very Periya Thriumozhi. 'annam-men kamalathu -aNi malar pEDAthu, alai punal ilai kuDai nEzhal sennel oN kavari asaiya vERRirukkum ThirukkaNNankuDiyuL ninRAnEA' 9-1-5; The divine poet Kaliyan comes up with another ace. A casual observation of an annam sitting on a lotus leaf blossoms into such a wonderful correlation of royal throne, veN koRRak kuDai and sAmaram. And that is Kaliyan the poet for you dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
