Revealing the deliberations of the Samsad (conclave) to the Press this evening, VHP's International President Ashok Singhal said that in South India all temples, and its properties have been confiscated by the Governments run by political parties and bureaucrats. The Samsad also discussed to start a movement in a big way demanding that the administrations of these temples must immediately be handed over to the Dharmic councils or apolitical councils run by local people and so that the diversion of temple cash offerings and properties now being used for non-religious purposes by the governments, could be protected, Mr. Singhal said. If the conversion of religion was continued, the Hindu community population would come down to 50 per cent from present 84 per cent by 2060, Mr. Singal pointed out. Hundreds of sadhus and a large number of acharyas of Vaisnavism and Saivism from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamilnadu including Sri Jeyendra Saraswathi of Kanchi Mutt and the VHP General Secretary, Mr. Praveen Togadia who participated in the conclave have also discussed and opposed the proposal of Rs.120 Crore Ropeway project to be taken up by APTTDC from Tirupati to Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara, Mr. Singal said criticizing that religious pilgrimage of devotees was being converted into merry making trip to the world famous hill temple with the Western style of introductions. Earlier, at the conclave, addressing the gathering Mr. Singhal asserted that India now was in need of a Hindutva Government to protect Hinduism and Hindu population and for which a solid Hindu vote bank has to be developed. http://www.tirupatitimes.com/
