Guest guest
Agraharam dates back to many years. This temple, which was in a dilapidated condition, was given a facelift by Sri Parangusapura Yatheenthra Mahadesikan (3rd Jeeyar) of tthe Ahobil Mutt who established the deity 'Vilakoli Perumal' here. Later, Sreeshashtai Parangusapura Yatheenthra Mahadesikan (6th Jeeyar) renovated the sanctum sanctorum and established the Parangusapura Agraharam. Alll this information can be found in the Ahobila Mutt's documents. The main deity of Pattabhiramar appears with Seetha and Lakshmana on either side in this temple. Utsavar Sri Kodhandaramar and the main deity, Sreenivaasar, standing 6 feet tall with Sreedevi and Bhoodevi, are also seen in this temple. There is a separate temple near this, with a sanctum sanctorum for Sri Dharpasayanam Sethuraamar, which was built by Salem Vijayaraghavachari 100 years ago. In Kodhandaraamar temple, pooja is performed twice a day and every month in Punarvasu star, abhishegkam is performed for Sri Ramar and in Thiruvonam star the same is done for Sreenivasar. They are taken around in a holy procession also during these days. 'Oonjal Utsavam' is celebrated for Sri Alarmel Mangai during the months of Aadi and Thai on Fridays. During Thiruaadipooram, Bhoghi and Panguni Uthiram, thirukalyanam is performed for Sreenivasar and Alarmel Mangai. The deities are also taken in procession inside the temple during Navarathri. The distinctive feature of this temple is that one can see the deity Rama in sitting posture (pattabhishekam) as well as sleeping (dharpasayanam) posture. The devotees who worship here are absolved of their sins and diseases, as by tradition. Srirama Jeyam Sarvam Sri Krishnarapanam Blab-away for as little as 1¢/min. Guest guest
Namaskarams, Sorry for the delay. There are town buses from Chengalput. There are buses plying through Pon Vilaintha Kalathur directly but the frequency is very less. The best bet would be to go to Chengalput and then to take a town bus from there.
