1. She is the Ultimate Light.

(Cp. name [806] paramjyotih: She is the Ultimate Light, who

illuminates the Sun, the Moon and the Agni.)

2. She is the Ultimate State.

"yadgatvA na nivartante taddhAma paramaM mama: That state of

consciousness from which there is no rturn is My ultimate state."

(Bha Gita 16-6)

This is undifferentiated consciousness, which is untouched by the

other three states. This state is also known as turIyA, turIyAtItA,

sAksI, AtmA, etc.

"dhaAma-sabdo avasthA paraH: The word dhAma means state of

consciousness."

"tadatikrAntam paraM-dhAma: The state beyond the three states is

called Param-dhama."

3. She is the Ultimate Abode.

DhAma here means resting place. Kath Up 3-9 says the Ultimate Abode

is Visnu. But in the Kurma Purana, Visnu clarifies that the Ultimate

Abode is "My Power, Maheswari, Gauri, Shanti, Satyam, etc."

- Dr. C. Suryanarayana Murthy, Commentary on the Sri Lalita

Sahasranama, 1962
