Guest guest
(1) Kanchendzonga Perhaps this *is* its Sanskrit name? Kaañcana-janghaa [dot over last n], "having golden shanks"? (2) Svaamin sva (with lengthened vowel) + min, possessive suffix. sva = "one's own [things]" hence "property". So svaamin originally = "property owner", hence "master". (See Macdonell's Grammar, para 87a.) Dr Valerie J Roebuck Manchester, UK PS Open archives, please!
