Parangi which is derivative of Firangi used both by the Tamils and

Sinhalese of Sri Lanka, can at times be a racist term but also a term

of endearment when used in the context of friends who are Parangi

(such as the Euro-asian Burghers). It is used to refer to any one who

is looks 'Parangi' including Sri lankans who have been there for over

500 years or children of mixed parents.
