Dear List:

I remember that ten years ago and more, when I was a Classics undergrad at

this university, I found an ancient volume here in the Robarts library

that was a Latin translation, I think in hexameters, of the raamaayaNa.

It was beautifully printed and illustrated. I can't find it anymore.

Does anyone know what it might have been? I'd love to see it again.

At the same time I would like to ask about really saliently good or

otherwise significant Latin translations of Sanskrit and Tamil works.

There must be a lot, I would love to find and read them-- it would be a

very fun way to revive my Latin, especially if the Latin is given as a

crib for the Sanskrit in the same edition.

Best,

P. Ernest
