Guest guest
To date, only 14 people have voted, which hardly looks like a consensus despite the 11-3 ratio favoring self-governance. Unless there is a sizeable increase in participation by tomorrow, I will drop this initiative. Self-governance would mean self-administration. If members can't be troubled to express an opinion on this subject, they will scarcely be likely to help administer this forum. The only consensus I see at present is a consensus for leaving everything to others. Speaking of which, how are the discussions among the expert committee progressing, Dr. Wujastyk? Might I suggest a coding system for messages? The subject of an academic query could be prefixed with the letter "A," a political posting with the initial "P", an insulting message with the letter "I," others "M" for miscellaneous. The responsibility for labeling would be on the posting member. Other members could then limit their email to the kinds of messages they prefer. example: A-Latin translations of Sanskrit and Tamil works M,I - Paul Thieme David
Guest guest
Dr. Wujastyk told us that the list has touched 200. Even in the old Indology list, only a small fraction participated in writing anything. Others just keep lurking, only few Indologists participate.
