There is a very good reason why it gets de-Sanskritized: Learning Sanskrit takes several years, is extraordinarily difficult and will give the student a severe disability on the job market. Consequently, Indian ideas have to be expressed in European languages without the Sanskrit. But otherwise, your point is well taken. The Norwegian foreign minister, Mr. Jagland, recently told the press that he uses breath and relaxation techniques which are derived from an Indian master, but taught by an Englishman who had adapted the methods. However, they are shorn of philosophical content and just used as a physical technique to regenerate mental strength. Mr. Jagland had also tried to introduce these techniques in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by offering a course to all employees. The offer was not met with great enthousiasm, I'm afraid.
