A couple of thoughts

1. In Sanskrit jyeSTha refers to something of the highest quality, whereas in

Tamil the word <cETTai> or <CESTai> has a negative connotation, like <trouble>.

2. Then again, most probably by pure coincidence, the Italian word <cattivo>

meaning <bad> sounds very much like the Tamil word <keTTa>, meaning <bad>, just

as the Greek <palaios> (old) sounds like the Tamil <pazaiya>.
