Considering India's architectural monuments, it is evident that India had a great deal of technological knowledge. You don't create great fortresses, cities, dams, temples etc. through speculation alone. But much of India's technological knowledge seems to have been a well-kept secret among those who practiced the technology, much in the way modern corporations avoid telling competitors about how they do things. That is probably one of the reasons why much knowledge was lost and needs to be rediscovered. We do have the Shilpashastras, though. Does the project mentioned by Prof. Malhotra also concern itself with the Shilpashastras? Lars Martin Fosse Dr. art.
