Guest guest
Reference:The Koran by J.M.Rodwell (introduction by G.Margoliouth),Pub:Dent:London, Everyman's Library, Dutton:New York, ISBN 0460 00380 I Last printed in 1971 I am puzzled by the following passages- (1) page 293, Chapter [LXXXVII] SURA VII AL ARAF Mecca-205 verses In this chapter on p.309 "170 And when we shook the mount over them as if it had been a shadow, and they thought it falling upon them-----"Receive, said we, with steadfastness what we have brought you, and remember what is therein, to the end that ye may fear God". (2)p.338 [XCL] SURAII-The Cow Medina-286 verses In this chapter, p344 : "Call to mind also when we entered into a covenant with you and lifted up the mountain over you-----" (3)the same chapter Cow, p.347,"And when we accepted your covenant, uplifted the mountain over you, we said-----" (4)p.410[C] SURA IV-Women. Medina-175 verses In this chapter, p.427,"And we uplifted the mountain over them when we made a covenant with them, and we said to them,"Enter the gate adoring----" To the best of my knowledge Prophet (pbuh) did not pick up mountain and held as an umbrella. If these verses refer to Moses bringing tablets down the mountain in Sinai, then to the best of my knowledge Moses did not pick up the mountain and held as a shadow. If these are revelations coming from the archangel Gabriel, then perhaps it will make sense. Assuming that there are not multi GODHEADS ( separate for Hindu, Muslim, Christian etc) in the sky or heavens, who is the archangel Gabriel in Hindu tradition as He is the important person who appears again again in Jews,Christian and Islam religions?
