Dear Sri Naga Ganesan

Had you been a collage artist? All those statements you quoted of me

belong to different posts addressed to different people at different

times.

You were quite confortable discussing naked temple dancers on old

Indology list dispassionately, a topic that doesn't suit today's

value systems. But why this passion and value judgements suddenly?

Who really wants to conduct rituals and what is the social need? If

rituals are really useful they would have been apporpriated long ago

by multinationals to clean Hudson river or manage ozone layers. The

reason for doing rituals is just to preserve an ancient asset whose

meaning is lost. Changing it to suit today's needs is like painting

Taj Mahal with latex.

Kindly check my discussion of veda and caste..

Dear Sri Bhadraiah,

Greetings.

I could not read the URL, is the address OK?

Are you related to Veerashaivaite Acharyas of Mallampalli?

Prof. Velcheru Narayanaravu talks about Sri.

Mallampalli Somasekhara Sarma (quoting from memory)

as the greatest living Telugu scholar of virshaivism

(in VNR, Warriors of Shiva).

Regards,

N. Ganesan

The site was lost on May 24th when acmecity merged with aol. It

should be a lesson not to forget keeping a personal copy of additons

and changes. I have a 1 year old copy of the site.

Somasekhara Sarma was one of our great grandfathers.
