Guest guest
I did not intend a racial slur at all and apologize if it sounded like one. Actually, it was not directed towards western Indologists at all as should be clear, but referred to a particular class of Indians (mostly in the past) who thought that they were genetically closer to some skeletons in the Takla Makan than to their own countrymen in say, Bengal. I do however feel amused at the attempts of some people to equate the influx of particular genes to influx of particular languages into India. As the Indologist Stanley Wolpert wrote that the most important aspect of the Aryan invasions was the induction of 'Caucasian genes into the Indian population'! Maybe your ire should be directed towards them. VA PS: Please note that I am not Dr. I am an MS (although Dr. Witzel thought, on another forum, that I am a BA!)
