Guest guest
>From my perch in the peanut gallery:- Dear Prof. Witzel, Having read through everything so far but the notes, I congratulate you on your masterful analysis of the subject. You have laid open the facts, the standards required for competent research and analysis, and defined and applied the tests of reasoning and research that academic expertise requires. It is a model against which other efforts will be tested for some time to come. I especially admire the way in which you used Occam's Razor and other tests of reasoning, as well as the facts, and moreover without the vehemence and sting present in some of your previous discussion. (We-e-ell, the blue pencil might have missed one or two, and the footnotes are still to be traversed.) You have given those who disagree with your academic conclusions very little ground on which to disagree except on the field of research and analysis. Very well done. I wonder if you, or perhaps this is more Professor Malhotra's field, could tell us what is Occam's Razor's counterpart in Indic philosophy or other tradition?
