The Iranians migrated into an area which had known impressive buildings for

at least 2000 years I believe. I don't know what kind of huts or houses

Avestan speakers had, but they must have been familiar with the monuments

of Mesopotamia (which the Persians eventually took over).

I thought that only Southwestern Iran (Elam) had these impressive

buildings, and Avestans reached there only by 700 BC.

This would be 300 to 700 years after the period of the Rig Veda,

and certainly not contemporaneous with it.
