Guest guest
By this time it is clear to all that there were /are the rivers Saraswati, Drishadvati and HiraNyavati in India east of Khyber pass and there were /are the same three rivers in the west of Khyber pass in today's Afghanistan. In my opinion, this is an unsolved puzzle in the prehistory of India(history prior to 500/600 BCE). In 450 BCE there was no nation of Afghanistan. It was the land of India and Persia. In 1000 BCE, we do not know what exactly was the political situation extending from North India to Tigris river. There might be clans who were simply related to each other. There could be many explanations for the rivers having the same names on the both sides of the Khyber pass.Historical linguistics is used by the western scholars to prove that the flux was from the west of Khyber pass to the east. Prof.Witzel referes to again and again the Kuru supertribe (1200 BCE-900 BCE) developing in the north India. Could he kindly enlighten us about the situation in the west of Khyber pass around 1000 BCE? Who were at that time in the region west of Khyber pass and what were their tribal names along with names of their kingdoms? Please do not give me the answer that they were Aryan tribes. I would like to know the names of tribes and kingdoms. If Aryans east of Khyber pass had names (Kurus), then Aryans west of Khyber pass must had the names too.Thanks. N.R.Joshi.
