We all have a right to be politically active,

but this is an Indology list, right?

Does it make sense to attack somebody politically

on a list which is read by a few hundred Indologists?

We are not the most powerful political forum,

don't you think?

So, go attack each other in the political media,

if you need to.

On the Indology list, let's be sportsmen and fair

to each other.

I am sure that we can agree on matters of scholarship.

Yours,

Gunthard

VA: Your one sided sermonizing reveals your own allegiance to the old

boys club. Where were you when the old Indology list saw 450 posts on

the condition of science and technology in India and on the supposed

fraud? Or was that an unscholarly list?

The duplicity of Indologists no longer amazes me.

What do you think of the tone and tenor of MW's article in the

Frontline magazine? On other lists, people have demonstrated how the

supposed 'plant' of the telephone trough at the bottom of

the 'enhanced' image of that seal was just the invention of Professor

Vassilkov's fertile imagination, eagerly licked by a highly political

duo. What do standards of deceny demand here? Or will you ignore it

because he is a professional colleague you cannot afford to annoy?
