For all the rhetorics about logic and rigor,

the good Kaushal is basically misinformed:

 

1. In characterizing Fosse as "coming from a continent where such eminent

'nasty-

ists' were widely prevalent a scant 50 years ago"...

 

Well, FYI, his homeland, Norway, was occupied, SIXTY years ago by German

troops, and of course very much against the will of the population, who

resisted quite fiercely.

 

2. Guilt by association (or relation) --in this case 60 years later, when

Fosse wasn't even born-- was a favorite Nazi tactic. You have just used

the tactic effectively, for all to see.

Congratulations! Or should I say, Heil!

 

3. It is great scientific news that homo erectus "who are also homo

sapiens" is still surviving India. Let's go and study those rare specimens.

Even NEH will pay for that. Or rather, ask Indian scholars to find them and

tell us... My educated guess is that the (first) breed is not found at

NCERT, ICHR, IG Ctr. any more...

 

4. F. Max Mueller (not MaxMueller, mokSamuula(ra), -- Max happens to be one

of his first names) did NOT say that the Veda was "written" in the second

mill. BCE; he knew better, and Kaushal doesn't,

 

5. and he also did not say "in 1500 BCE" but in 1200 BC. And, he stressed

that (long before archaeology) this was an average (guessed) figure,

based on the development of Vedic literature from Samhitas to Upanishads

and Sutras, 200 years by era.

 

6. For this date, did not invoke the Bible or, rather, Bishop Usher with

his c. 1600 CE backward calculation of c. 4000 BCE as the time of

creation. You fell prey to your avid reading of Rajaram & Co.'s propaganda.

-- MM. wasn't that stupid and he always had a hard time with the Oxford

church establishment. That's why he did NOT become the Boden Prof. of Skt.

at Oxford.... All well known facts....

 

Well, if this is the level of common knowledge and invective on which such

"discussions" as above are held, I too have to give up.

actually homo erectus who are also homo sapiens still surviving in

India and what is more they are articulate, knowledgeable and present

devastatingly logical arguments.

 

The days when MaxMueller could arbitrarily decide that the Vedas were

written in 1500 BCE based on biblical arguments are long gone and

such assertions will not go unchallenged anymore. To hide under the

assertion that opponents should confine themselves to a "little world

of evil fascists, racists and other nasty -ists" will convince nobody

and is laughable coming from a continent where such eminent 'nasty-

ists' were widely prevalent a scant 50 years ago. <<
