It's true, India lost out the lead when Europe was surging

ahead starting from the Renaissance, Science and Industrial

revolution.

I think due to the inherent difficulties involved, the Brahminical

literature prohibited going out in the Seas as an

unhonorable activity. That was detrimental. People in the South and

East

India tried and there was trade with South East Asia.

The major problem was India lost out the lead it had

in South East Asia. India's naval capabilities were left out

by Vijayanagar. It was Pallavas and Cholas who are memorable

navy builders, but Vijayanagar did not follow their clue.

Look at how many scripts have the Pallava grantha in South East Asia.

Had they done it, Ramayana will compete for the Bible in most

of Asia.

When India slept and was bled, Europe captured most of the lands,

and now Indians stand long lines to get a visa permit to work

as a temporary coolie (Cf. As usual, I remind that coolie is

a Tamil word. From kUlam = grain measured out as compensation

for work).
