Guest guest
Can anyone provide attestations for the following two Sanskrit words? (1) parigraha - some kind of illness; (2) ekanaya - epithet of the Dharma in a Buddhist context. Does anyone know a Sanskrit medicinal plant or substance by the name of kalarb (h) a? I would be grateful for any suggestions. zambasta
Guest guest
Offhand, I have seen the term _ekanaya_ occur in some Buddhist Tantric commentaries in the form of quotations from an _Ekanayanirdezasuutra_. For instance, the _Caryaamelaapakapradiipa_ of Aryadeva contains two quotations of the same verse from this sutra: once in chapter three and once in chapter seven. The same verse, with the same citation as _Ekanayanirdezasuutra_, occurs in the _SubhaaSita-saMgraha_ (cf. Bendall, ed., p. 25). It seems clear to me that the _SubhaaSita-saMgraha_ basically plagiarizes the CMP wholesale, so ultimately this boils down to only one attestation. . . I would be very interested to see the range of attestations of this word that you receive. I would also be grateful for any information on this particular suutra, if anyone has come across it in other contexts.
