Guest guest
A "negative" letter called puLLi plays a major role in tamil script. Was told that Prof. H. Falk has mentioned its appearance from 5th century onwards, in his book, Schrift in alten Indien. Archaeological discoveries on coins and rock shelters by Gift Siromoney, Iravatham Mahdevan has pushed back the first occurence by atleast 300 years. This has a bearing on the dating of some sUtrams of the grammar, tolkAppiyam as well. I. Mahadevan's summary: CTamil/message/311 Regards, N.
