K. Zvelebil[1973], in _The Smile of Murugan_,

gives his opinion on the date of cilappatikAram

but seems to be silent about maNimEkalai. He writes (p.178)

"iLaGkO composed his poem sometimes between the end of the 4th

"and the end of the 6th cent. A.D."
