Guest guest
AMT proponents tell us to think Mahabharat and Ramayan as composed between 1000 BCE and 500 BCE. This in turn implies that the events described in the epics never happened and they were simply imaginations/poetry of bards. Or at the most, the events in Ramayan and Mahabharat were trivial events of internal battles after Aryan immigration to the subcontinent. Could any body produce a definite evidence to show that at least some events from Mahabharat (ignore Ramayan for time being) took place before 1200 BCE. Such evidence could come from locating the tribes and kingdoms described in Mahabharat outside of the subcontinent before 1200 BC. What was the earlier form of the name "Kassite" the Aryan dynasty that ruled Babylonia? As it was pointed out by me on this list that the name Sumerian is the distorted name and it was conformed by couple of scholars. Earlier name forms might exist in cases of the names "Kassite" and Mitanni. Thanks. N.R.Joshi.
