Guest guest
Dear List Members, Otto Boehtlingk (1815-1904) was so much impressed by the Paninian method of analyzing a language that he wrote the grammar of the Turkic Yakut language of Siberia, in which the working out of phonology, morphology and syntax is detailed and complete in a very Panini-like fashion. It was published under the title <Die Sprache der Jakuten> from St Petersburg in 1851(Ref:M B Emeneau, <India and Lingustics>, JAOS, Vol.75, 1955, p.150, fn 18). Can anybody help me in tracing a copy of this book, either in the original or in reprint, anywhere in the world ?
