Dear list members,

1) I am interested in the following books mentioned in the old Indology

archives but I can't find them listed in either the Library of Congress or

New York Public Library Research Library on-line catalogues. Can any

members give me a contact who can give me availability/pricing/ordering

information for these.

a) Walter Slaje, Sarada: deskriptiv-synchrone Schriftkunde zur

Bearbeitung kaschmirischer Sanskrit-Manuskripte[indische

Schriften, Band 1] Reinbek: Wezler, 1993)

b) Studies on the Nilamata, Kyoto 1994 .

(Also I see listed in the archives

"Studies on the Nilamata-Purana", Ikari 1995

"A Study of the Nilamata", Ikari 1994

"A Study of the Nilamata: Aspects of Hinduism in Ancient

Kashmir", Ikari, 1994 .

Are these all the same book? )

2) Also do any of the list members know of any available microfilm or paper

copies of a sharada manuscript that also has a devanagari copy. I'm looking

for something to use to get practice reading sharada script so I don't

really care what the content is.

3) Can anyone recommend a book or articles that give a good

geographical/temporal/historical overview to the different scripts found in

manuscripts?

Many thanks,

Just in case someone is interested, some information is

available at

A Sharda Primer by Prem Nath Shastri

http://ikashmir.org/Languages/ShardaScript/index.html

Nilamat Purana (trans) by Dr. Ved Kumari

http://koausa.org/Purana/

Some of the Kashmiri scholars like Prof. Subhash Kak probably

can provide good leads.

There are several books on scripts in India. I have often

used the book by Ojha.

Several books give tables that show regional/temporal evolution

of Indian scripts.
