Guest guest
Richard Lariviere of Texas explored the current state of the Punjab University Library Sanskrit manuscripts some year ago. They seem to be still there but inaccessible. I don't know if this is pertinent to your question about the D.A.V. College mss, but if it is Lariviere's email is rwl. Allen Thrasher Allen W. These manuscripts, needless to say, are not much used in their present location and it would be a good thing if some arrangement could be made to purchase them, relocate them or at the least make them more accessible to scholars. I did hear that some American university, perhaps the University of Texas with or without some other collaborators was at one point engaged in an effort to acquire these manuscripts, but I do not know what, if anything came of this initiative. Perhaps some other list members can update us on this. >Dear list-members, >The first volume of Catalogus Catalogorum (University >of Madras, 1968) mentions 'A hand-list of the MSS >(under 'A') in the Lalchand Research Library, D.A.V. >College, Lahore (349 MSS)'. Guest guest
Dear List members: I got the following e-mail from Prof. Robert Goldman but not the message(s) to which it refers. I recall the same thing happening a few weeks ago in the case of another message. Did anyone else have the same experience? What could be a possible explanation (apart from censorship -- most rs to this list should know that I am old enough to be allowed to see movies without parental guidance and too set in my ways to be affected by the content of any writing -- and apart from the respondent responding to an unintended readership)? ashok aklujkar On 06-02-2002 11:48, "Robert Goldman" <sseas wrote: >> This would no doubt be the excellent MSS collection put together >> under the supervsiion of Woolner and Lakshman Sarup.
