No. I have been around Indian English-educated Urdu speakers,and I have never heard them say this. It is used as a surname in India. The telephone directories give it mostly as Shaikh, less as Sheikh and sometimes as Sheik. I have also seen it spelled as Shaykh for people of Arab countries.
