In the context of cyclical temple festivities of the

Nambudiris in Kerala there occur terms like vAram,

raNDam vAram & trisandham referring apparently both

to the calendar and to the modes of Veda recitation

(saMhitA, pada and krama with its vikRitis).

Sometimes either a religious occasion for Veda recitation

of a particular vikRti or the very execution of this (here kramapATha)

is termed vAram. This happens in the context of the annual

festival of Anyonyam.

Can anybody help with any reference or explanation?
