Guest guest
Dear list members, 1) Does anyone know if the V.S. Sukthankar memorial edition, editted by P.K. Gode, published Karnatak Pub. House, 1944-45 was ever reprinted. Does it contain his prolegomena to the Mahabharata? Also in the NYPL Oriental collections on-line catalogue there is an (incomplete?) entry for V.S. Sukthankar. "Palaeographie notes. [Poona, 1917]. Repr.: Commemorative essays presented to Sir R.G. Bhandarkar." Would this also be included in his memorial edition? 2) S.M. Katre in the Preface to the first edition of his "Introduction to Indian Textual Criticism" says that he "has reserved the study of Historical Palaegraphy of Indian Manuscripts for a separate treatise". Did he ever publish anything on this? He also mentions in his preface to the second edition as an important study "the Century ascribed to Amaru" by S.K. De awaiting publication. I couldn't find anything under the NYPL Oriental Collections on-line catalogue that seemed to fit. Was this ever published and if-so can someone give me the bibliographic information for it. 3) I've come across the following reference. Sanskrit Textual criticism by Vijay Pandya, Ahmedabad: Parshva Prakashan, 2001. Is anyone familiar with this work, and would they consider it a book of sound scholarship.
