Guest guest
> We can consider Mahatma Gandhi as a rishi Has Gandhi anywhere explicitly said that he has experienced brahman? Has he anywhere given an exposition of brahma vidhya which indicates such a knowledge? Has any recognized authority on the subject recognized his status as such? Ramana Maharishi in one conversation, says that if Gandhi continued with his efforts at brahmachaarya he will attain liberation - but nowhere do we find anybody asserting that Gandhi actually did - neither does Gandhi himself. Yes sure he was a great man whom all Indians should thank for leading our independence movement to success - he also placed our civilizational values in the right perspective : "simple living and high thinking" and backed his words by action - but let's not call him "rishi" etc because of this. Is this an indication of the fall in the civilizational values of modern Indians for whom even an attempt at brahmachaarya is considered so great?
