David Magier SARAI ============ The University of Texas at Austin Department of Asian Studies is recruiting for a position of Lecturer in Hindi and Urdu, beginning in Fall 2002. The lecturer will be responsible for teaching first and second-year Hindi and Urdu. The candidate should have a Ph.D. with a concentration in Hindi-Urdu, native or near-native fluency in Hindi-Urdu and superior-level proficiency in both written Hindi and written Urdu. Teaching experience in Hindi and Urdu and training in language pedagogy will be an advantage. Please send an application, including a curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation mailed directly by the referees, a statement of teaching interests and copies of student evaluations and other evidence of teaching excellence to: Hindi-Urdu Search Committee, Department of Asian Studies, WCH 4.134, Austin, TX 78712.
