Guest guest
Dear Tim, The form "zemuSI" is the feminine of the perfect participle of "zam" (which, like many roots with medial -a-, loses its reduplication and changes its stem vowel to -e- in weak forms of the perfect). It should therefore mean something like "calm"; perhaps the idea being that a calm mind understands clearly. Why feminine? Perhaps originally construed with "buddhi" or something similar? Just speculating.
