Guest guest
Hi! I am neither a scholar nor a formal student of Indology; I am merely a `very curious and interested reader' of indological literature. And my first message here is not without some trepidation as I am almost awed by the technical messages in this group! Yet, here goes: 1. I am looking for a detailed timeline beginning the Vedic age to the dawn of the Mughal empire. 2. I need to know the specific references (Mandala/Shloka/Verse) in the Rig Veda to the following: a) Mention of beef eating or beef b) Rudra Prasna c) Widow remarriage and pre-marital sex 3. Which is an authoritative Sanskrit-Hindi volume on the Satpatha Brahmana, Mantra Brahmana and the major Upanishad-s as well as the Rig Veda? I have a translation from Gujarat of the Rig Veda but it leaves much to be desired. Please do mention the publisher and/or the website where I can obtain these volumes. 4. Last of all, and most important, is there someone among you who could volunteer to coach me in my readings of Indological literature? If you do not mind answering my queries as I go along my readings, I will be delighted to have one of you erudite scholars assist me. Thank you very much indeed.
