Guest guest
In sangam poetry (ParipaaTal), the story is told of Indra turning into a cat. Gotama caught him with Ahalya and cursed him (Ram.,) Indra turning into a cat is repeated afterwards by major poets like JayamkoNDAr and Kambar. Kathaasaritssaagara explains the Prakrit phrase involved, and why, among many available possibilities, the cat is used. http://www.services.cnrs.fr/wws/arc/ctamil/2002-04/msg00127.html If interested in classical Tamil texts, and want to discuss the parallels from other ancient Indian sources, welcome to CTamil list at Paris, France. http://www.services.cnrs.fr/wws/arc/ctamil/2002-04/msg00108.html Kind regards, N.
