In South India, many monumental temples grew out of ant-hills,

(eg., TiruvAnmiyUr in the Pallava country).

TiruvArUr, in the Kaveri river delta, was an ancient capital

of the Cholas, and the birthplace of the Trinity of Carnatic music.
