Guest guest
I am agree with the thoughts of manish modi on the minority issue. Jainism is a religion not a part of any religion. How can one think that jainism is a part of hinduism. I think there are five things which gives the status of religion to a thought. If any thought have these five things uniquely it means that thought is a religion. These five things are. 1. God or aradhya 2. A place where followers of that thought meets and remember to their god and promise to follow the path shown by god. (Temple, church, gurudura, jinalaya, mosque etc) 3. Some people who devotes their whole life for that thought (sent, monk, munee etc.) 4. Some written material(book / books), which has the teachings of god. 5. Theory of creation of universe. If these five things are common in any two thoughts it means they belongs to the same religion otherwise not. Now i am trying to analyze different religion on the basis of these five points. A. Christian. 1. God - God 2. Religious place - Church 3. People (who devotes his life for god) - Sent 4. Religious book - Bible. 5. Theory of creation of world - God created the world B. Muslim 1. God - Allah or Khuda 2. Religious place - Mosque 3. People (who devotes his life for god) - Peer, Fakeer 4. Religious book - Kuran 5. Theory of creation of world - Khuda created the world C. Hindu 1. God - They are three (Bramha, Bishnu, and Shankar) 2. Religious place - Temple 3. People (who devotes his life for god) - Sadhu 4. Religious book - Veds 5. Theory of creation of world - Brahma creates the world, Vishnu saves it and shankar destroy it. D. Jain 1. God - Sidh 2. Religious place - Jinalaya 3. People (who devotes his life for god) - they are three (Acharaya, Upadhaya, and sadhu) 4. Religious book - Agams. 5. Theory of creation of world - No one created the world. similarly one can analyze the other religions(Bodh, Sikh and Parsee) on these five points. You will find that they are unique in these points. Now any one can say that jainism is a separate religion. We should honor and recognize every religion otherwise it will destroy the communal harmony of india. By this mail I want to make a appeal from our PM that they should understand the fact and gives minority status to jainism. Keeping away one to his right is injustices and if it continues it will create a feeling among jains that they are not getting their rights on india and forcing to follow hinduism. Easily one could predict that what could be the outcome of this feeling. Yours Ashish Jain
Guest guest
To be able to participate in this kind of discussion a person needs three things : 1. an objective outlook, 3. historical, textual and practical knowledge and 2. the ability to substantiate arguments with reason. Without these there's little point in engaging in such a discussion and that's the reason I've abandoned this topic. But I personally benefitted from the exchange on this thread as it allowed me to think out of a lot of issues.
