Hindu gods and Buddha (On Mr. Malaiya's comments)

Now that Shri Malaiya has given many quotations to the contrary,

will R.Visvanath give evidence of "animosity between buddhist monks

and their brahmana counterparts" and on what basis he thinks Buddha

as an avatar (of Vishnu) is far-fetched. Does he think such a thing

has not happened i.e. identification of Buddha as an avatar of

Vishnu among sects?
