Guest guest
Here I'm not talking about going nuts :-) - but about losing the mind into reality. This for eg is in contrast to the Patanjala Yoga which tries to "straighten" the mind to "reflect" reality. So the difference is between wilful use of the mind to grasp or reflect reality and the surrender/losing of it into reality. The advaitin teacher Gaudapaada considers the state of deep sleep as one where the mind is "lost" in reality - in contrast he says enlightenment is where the mind is pure/straight to grasp/reflect reality. Would the Mahaayaani Bauddhas or the bhakti Vedaantists agree with Gaudapaada? I'm interested in any/all references in Indian religious/spiritual/philosophical texts which talk of losing the mind into reality as a spiritual path. Advance thanks for any help. Try A. K. Ramanujan's translations.
