Guest guest Posted October 1, 2002 Report Share Posted October 1, 2002 After successful conventions at Nasik (2001) and Bhatkuli-Amaravati (2002), Third Convention of Maharashtra Jain Itihas Parishad will be held on 25th and 26th January 2003 at Kankavali in Sindhudurg district in south konkan (Maharashtra). This region was ruled by Jain Kings (Shilahars) and there are many interesting places including ancient Jain Mandirs to visit in this area. Kankavali is central place for Konkan, South Maharashtra, Goa and Karnatak. You can reach Kankavali by train from Mumbai and Goa or by bus from all major cities of Western Maharashtra and North Karnatak and Goa.
