Vaishanvites and Shaivaites

Hi!

 

I want to know if there are any specific papers that give information

on the numerous wars (skirmishes) between Vaishanavites and Shaivites

in India over the past centuries?

 

I want to know where (parts of India) such internecine 'wars'

happened? When did these happen (which century/dates)? Who were the

major participants? Were these established groups or was it the herd

mentality responsible for it? Were such 'wars' limited to just the

South of India?

 

I'd appreciate any easily accessible online papers or some books that

detail such incidents. If any of you have personal papers scanned or

online, I'd appreciate those very much.
