Guest guest
namaskaar, This is my first posting here. I wanted further clarification in regards to the 18 vidyaa. ================= Book: krishhNa yajurvediiya.m taittiriiya braahmaNam. sriimatsaayaNaacaaryaviracitabhashhyasametam. ve. If not what exactly are the 18 vidyaa. Of course the question oof 64 kalaa remain: Which is the oldest reference? (As I understand, it occurs in devii bhaagavatam, shiva tantra and kaama suutra). VA: 4 Vedas + 6 Vedangas + Nyaya + Mimamsa + Purana + Dharmashastra. To this are added 4 Upavedas: Gandharva, Ayurveda, Arthashastra and Dhanurveda. Sthapatya is typically excluded. > > Of course the question oof 64 kalaa > remain: Which is the oldest reference? (As I understand, it occurs in > devii bhaagavatam, shiva tantra and kaama suutra). VA: Again, the list is not unique. Another text that lists the 64 kalaas is Sukranitisaara.
