Even before Sri Shankaracharya, there was considerable controversy on the interpretation of the passage of Chh Up and the Vakyakara Brahmanandi Atreya Tanka gave 6 explanations. > >I don't think Yaadhavaprakaasha was a Vaishnavite. But this begs the question - who is a Vaishnava? Can we not term a believer in the Pancharatra as a Vaishnava of sorts? I say this because Sri Venkatanatha quotes the now lost commentary of Sri Yadava Prakasha on Gita 11.53 (in his subcommentary Tatparyachandrika) where SrI Yadavaprakash clearly s to Vaishnava doctrines. Being an Advaitin and a Vaishnava are not mutually exclusive. > > Also, can someone tell whether the 1905 edition is consulted > in: Rules and regulations of Brahmanical asceticism > Yatidharmasamuccaya of Yadava Prakasa (Olivelle, P.; 1995) > Document: English : Internet VA: As far as I recall, no.
