VA: There is a view that Yadavaprakasha's system was closer to that

of Mandana Mishra than to that of Sri Shankaracharya.

VA: In this connection, one should also look up Sri Sudarshana Suri's

commentary on Sri Ramanuja's Vedarthasamgraha. Even before Sri

Shankaracharya, there was considerable controversy on the

interpretation of the passage of Chh Up and the Vakyakara Brahmanandi

Atreya Tanka gave 6 explanations.

VA: It is a common belief that Sri Yadavaarya was not a Vaishnava.

But this begs the question - who is a Vaishnava? Can we not term a

believer in the Pancharatra as a Vaishnava of sorts? I say this

because Sri Venkatanatha quotes the now lost commentary of Sri Yadava

Prakasha on Gita 11.53 (in his subcommentary Tatparyachandrika) where

SrI Yadavaprakash clearly s to Vaishnava doctrines. Being an

Advaitin and a Vaishnava are not mutually exclusive.

VA: As far as I recall, no.
