Guest guest
Dear list members, I have to prepare bibliographic records for the volumes of the KSTS (Kashmir Series of Texts and Studies) and as part of this I thought I'd like to include information on the available manuscripts for the different texts published in the series. 1) I have the NCC (which of course only goes up to "ba"), and I understand that Aufrechts CC also lists manuscripts for some texts of the series. Can anyone give me the names of catalogues that might have manuscripts not listed in the NCC or CC for the texts of the series. 2) In a great number of cases the introductions to the different volumes of the series indicate that the texts were prepared from manuscripts in the private hands of pandits working for the department that published the volume. Did most of these manuscripts remain in private hands or are they now in an institutes collection. 3) Whatever became of "The Research Department of the Jammu and Kashmir State". Is it still in existence in some form or other. Many thanks, Harry Spier 371 Brickman Rd.
