Guest guest
National Geographic is a famous magazine devoted to photographic articles on topics from around the world. Surprizingly, they have never published an article on Jainism. Actually they did publish photographs of a Jain monk in the July 2001 issue, but they did not use the word Jain. Photographer Michale Yamashita and author Mike Edwards took a long trip trying to retrace the route of Marco Polo. At Mumbai they were taken to meet a monk to illustrate Marco Polo's words: "We go naked because we wish nothing of this world", thus Marco Polo quotes a holy man. Jain_Picturesblessed2.jpg gives the text describing meeting of Yamashita with a Jain monk. Sorry for the large size. Yamashita received a blessing with "no disguise". I will post the complete photograph, and another photograph at Jain_Pictures Yashwant Malaiya -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HINDI GRANTH KARYALAY http://www.hindibooks.8m.com Booksellers and Publishers Hirabaug, C.
