David Magier SARAI http://www.columbia.edu/cu/lweb/indiv/southasia/cuvl =========================================================================== The Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures of the University of Virginia has a one-year position at the rank of Lecturer for the teaching of Hindi and possibly Urdu for the academic year 2003-2004. This position may be extended for another year or more. The teaching duties are expected to include first and second year Hindi courses and second year Urdu. At least the MA in Hindi or Urdu language, literature, linguistics, or in an allied field is necessary, and experience teaching Hindi or Urdu at a US university is preferred. The salary is $34,000 plus benefits. A CV, including names of three referees we may contact, should be sent by email to Professor Robert A.
